As a passionate, anti-racist, and transversal educator…

…Adriana aims for students to think with teachers and for teachers to think with students in order to navigate their collective spaces such that they can produce new modes of learning, thinking, and being collectively in such a way that their individual and collective group expressions (and cultural identities) do not get effaced by those of the dominant structure.

What does an in situ pedagogy do?

Adriana continually updates her teaching practices in regard to curriculum theory and pedagogy, since the world and individuals before her are constantly evolving. She accomplishes this by reading, attending professional development, and practicing an in situ pedagogy that is present in the current place and time she is situated in.

This requires that she remain open and attuned to the connections and experiences in her class-space/s. As a teacher, she is self-aware and reflective in her practice, and this is reflected in her lessons that are being enhanced and adapted for the students before her.
